The country's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) has cautioned against loans being offered by unauthorized digital platforms, mobile applications promising a quick and hassle-free process.

In its tweet, the bank said: "Beware of fraudulent instant loan apps! Please do not click on unauthorized links or provide your details to an entity impersonating as SBI or any other bank. Visit for all your financial needs."

From time-to-time, SBI keeps alerting its customers regarding fraudulent practices. recently shared some tips for customers to stay safe while making online transactions. The lender shared a short video clip in the tweet. The tweet said, "Protect yourself from cyber-criminals by staying alert and informed. Here’s what you can do to stay safe." In the video, the bank warned customers about the fact that the financial service sector has always been a target for cybercrime.

In the tweet, the lender SBI advised citizens to report such cases of banking cyber frauds either to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or to the local police authorities. For those who are not aware, National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal is an initiative to facilitate victims/complainants to report cybercrime complaints online. This portal caters to complaints pertaining to cybercrimes only with a special focus on cyber crimes against women and children.
